Dog Bite

As a tool for creation, boredom is brilliant. Good things come of being mind-numbingly slouched on your sofa, watching another repeat of an episode MTV’S MADE, wishing you were elsewhere. If everyone was busy and engaged all of the time, where would all the exciting music come from? The knind of swaying nothingness that entices you into creative endeavour is the kind of noise that Atlanta’s Dog bite have embraced wholeheartedly, making entire songs where not much happens at all – and, unsuprisingly, it’s brilliant.

Comparisons to being bored are probably a little unfair and misleading, but the project does have that kind of vibe around it – of wasted hours washing over you, of time immeasurable passing you by and the world spinning, regardless. It all feels a little musty and forgotten, the depth of noise measured solely in how much dust it sounds like it may have accrued. Jaded might even be too strong of a word that sounds so disaffected as this, pulling apart the lo-fi rock scene into it’s raw components and expanding each of them into unforgettable jams that pull on the heart striongs and remind you of that time you watched the entire Peep Show box set in one day and actually considered starting the process again.
